Waikato Seat
Waikato in Maori means "flowing water." Having spent much time observing the impressionable nature of water flowing around obstacles and the formations created in streams, Sean has captured the gesture of a winding current in this piece. When the flow of water meets two stones, a chute is formed between them; the resulting form makes a comfortable cradle for the one seated within that flow. This piece sits on three "legs" one of them anchored in a cast metal socket.
